Dear Center School Supporter:

As you know, The Center School’s mission is “To Empower and Inspire All Students to Positively Impact Our World.” Such a mission requires significant support, in both time and dollars, from the Center School community of families and friends. We rely deeply on the generosity of this community to make Center School great. To that point, we are asking now for your support in the Center School Community Association’s (CSCA) Direct Giving Campaign.

We are excited to report that this school year families and students are enthusiastically participating in clubs and activities at record numbers. It is this incredible group of teachers, staff and students who set our school apart and makes it an inspiring and exciting place to explore and learn.

Our goal is to enrich the student experience as much as possible through offering a variety of programs and opportunities to appeal to our diverse student body.

We are currently short of where we should be this time of year. We have raised $5,792 so far this year. At the same time last year, we had raised over $13,800. The CSCA has set an ambitious campaign goal of $40,000 for the 2010-2011 school year to fund a variety of important student programs. Your donation today will allow us to continue to fund some amazing opportunities that otherwise would not be possible, including:

• The Seattle Repertory Theatre’s “Theater Design and Production”

• Drama for Humanities for grades 9, 10, 11, 12

• Physical Theater for Spring Semester Drama 1

• Acting for the Camera

• Writers in the Schools

• Theater rental for drama productions

• Curriculum enrichment, including guest artists/lecturers, field trips, financial assistance and materials

• Back to school team building activities

• Direct faculty support (funds allocated via a grant process from staff to CSCA board)

We understand that everyone’s ability to donate will vary. The important thing is to give what you can. Whether it’s $20 or $2,000 we need every family to give their support. No donation is too small.

Our secondary goal is to double the number of families who contributed last year and achieve a minimum of 50% participation. The percentage of families who contribute is a very important indicator to outside funders and the Seattle School District.
