Seattle Council PTSA (SCPTSA) was established in 1909 as a citywide coalition of local PTAs. Our charge from Washington State PTA is to: Support, coordinate, facilitate, and serve the needs of the local units which are members of that council. SCPTSA provides a common voice for PTA members, with representation on school district, city and state committees. SCPTSA advocates for public education. We organize grassroots support to improve the quality and funding of our public schools.

The Washington State PTA (WSPTA) is a nonprofit, membership association which seeks to bring together the home, school and community on behalf of all children and youth. The Washington State PTA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of four statewide officers, 13 region directors, a leadership director, a program director, membership director and a legislative director. The board governs the affairs of the State PTA and provides leadership training and education to local PTA units and councils. The Washington State PTA is chartered by and affiliated with the National PTA. Washington State PTA includes all people without regard to differences in race, culture, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic status, gender, abilities, special needs or geographic location. |
